  1. Surreal, unexpected moments in RPGs

Serpent Isle had some nice moments, like being arrested in Fawn, the whole Magelord Banquest + Affair, Erstam, your companions turning into the banes etc...
  2. Morroblivion

From the FAQ: Looking at the screenshots I prefer the original Morrowind engine.
  3. Faux Gothic: Let's play ArcaniA: Fall of Setarrif! (Done!!)

At least one regard in which they faithfully follow the footsteps of PB.
  4. Will you be purchasing TES V: Skyrim?

He did try, but after the initial letters from Bethseda he offered a compromise, in which he offered to not register "Scrolls" as a trade mark. At least that's what he claims, but I tend to believe him.
  5. If you could go back in time and...

Morrowind. Not because it's my favorite RPG, but it's the most interesting game world to find yourself in, knowing nothing.
  6. The Magic Candle

I like the first part better, but the second one probably deserves one playthrough. The combat is better and the dungeons are tough but have interesting features. IMO it's mostly the villages and cities that don't convey the same feeling and the main plot is sort of disappointing. I don't want...
  7. Interview critical of Bethesda RUBBED OUT

Maybe it was just me but on my very first playthrough of MW money was rather tight for a considerable duration of the game. Bribes, training, spells usually ate most of my money. Shops not so much, because most only sell very basic equipment. Of course this was before I found Creeper, before...
  8. Awesomeness of Dragon Age knows no bounds.

While I have little love for any of the DA games, I don't think the fact that even the Architect himself not knowing why he can speak and it not being answered in game is good. Too many games to out of their way to explain every mystery and answer all the open answers. It's critical that...
  9. Baldur's Gate Compilation - Extras?

...there are TES mods just as horrifying.
  10. The Magic Candle

Well, the short story is : it's an huge advantage. The main chars stats will be considerably higher compared to a new character. You will also get to keep most items (weapons, armor, mushrooms, not sure about spellbooks). Gems will also carry over, but they will be reduced in number. Same...
  11. The Magic Candle

After the Zirvanad you can chase the components listed in any order you like. If you want you can just get a captain to sail you around the pass. I'd suggest that you should probably go after missing spell books and mitrhil armor first, but the beauty is that one can really play Magic Candle in...
  12. What do you find interesting in an RPG?

NPC's can get me with one of three points: Deep and satisfying lore (Morrowind, Serpent Isle), an atmospheric world which offers nice exploration (Gothic, Ultima) and fun tactical combat (Goldbox, Wizardry). I do tend to favour games doing very well on one points over games which over a bit...
  13. Finally found the perfect mod collection for Morrowind

Really? Was it ever not optional in a previous version? I am pretty sure that I remember it not being an option.
  14. cRPGs in which the art direction doesn't suck?

True, but Age of Wonders blew them out of the water in that regard. I love the art and music in that game, though it got somewhat worse in Shadow Magic. Hate the new Julia.
  15. Finally found the perfect mod collection for Morrowind

As good as the Code Patch is in most regards, I'm still angry at the developers claim that the reflect spell behaviour for Absorb Spells is an "obvious bug" and not making that "fix" optional.
