  1. Progress?

Progress is happening at an alarming rate, so fast in fact that it's almost undetectable. Yes, unfortunately we've been very crap recently. A combination of real life and apathy has slowed things down considerably. We're still going though and in fact there has been quite a bit of progress...
  2. Boiling Point sequel

Trailer: http://www.gamershell.com/news/36642.html or: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jya0krM69Z0 They've done away with the old skill system and replaced it with perks. Get experience and level up on perks. I've tried to find out more about what perks there are but with no success. A...
  3. What in the blazes is Ashes?

As linked by LCJr. we've not actually written any dialogue yet which is why we haven't shown much and probably wont for a while. I wouldn't let that screen worry you so much. True but i agree with Kraszu actually. While one worded questions can give you freedom of imagination they can also...
  4. What in the blazes is Ashes?

Welcome to the new Ashes forum (thanks Codex ! ) Ashes is a (completely free) single player rpg game built on the philosophy of oldschool rpgs and is strongly inspired by three milestones of RPG history: Ultima VII, Drakkhen and Demon's Winter: we're trying to replicate the exploration...
  5. Ashes : New screens and interview

Well, it was always the intention. We thought about the possibility of making money from it for a little while but... well, we borrow a fair bit of art resources from other games and to replace it all would just be too much work. So it was a choice between getting it done and making no money or...
  6. Ashes : New screens and interview

Heh, i keep suggesting we should ask for them back, i'm sure the game would benefit from codex feedback and suggestions... and if nothing else we might get a fancy new interface! ;)
  7. Ashes : New screens and interview

It's simple but it's good enough, we can do everything we need to with it, skill checks, function calls etc. P.s. we love you roqua! will you have our babies?

  9. Is anyone else tired of point-and-click movement in CRPG's?

Ashes, when it's eventually finished will work just like that. WASD for movement (party follows in formation) and then point & click for the TB combat. I like it this way, never been a fan of point & click.
  10. Game News New screens and movie of Ashes: Two Worlds Collide

We'll see when we get to it, right now it's finishing combat and npc schedules! ;)
  11. Game News New screens and movie of Ashes: Two Worlds Collide

Yeah, i like it. It's just a question of how easy it is to implement Ideally, yes there would be a distinction between each town and potentially a greater distinction between empires. But practically? i don't know. We are only one coder and there is ALOT of stuff that needs doing. It depends...
  12. Game News New screens and movie of Ashes: Two Worlds Collide

Which essentially would boil down to IF sleep > X spawn concerned_guard who interrupts your sleep... talks to you... "Sorry to disturb you, but that nice old lady bla bla ... hey wait a second, you're..." I dunno, i think it seems a bit transparent. I'd like sleep to be limited to when you're...
  13. Interview Drakensang interview at RPG Dot

Didn't they employ someone to work on nothing other than making dialogues as "short as possible" ?
  14. Game News New screens and movie of Ashes: Two Worlds Collide

Yes, better. Yes but rather than it being a case of them not caring it's more that you are simply not *known* to them - You don't figure highly on their most wanted list, they may have only glanced at your "face" - bigger fish to fry. But when you talk to them, suspicion is raised and maybe...
  15. Game News New screens and movie of Ashes: Two Worlds Collide

I like it. Admit => standard fine Bluff [fail] => increased fine Bluff [success] => avoid fine... with possibility to have the star removed [critical bluff! ;) ] Bribe [fail] => increased fine Bribe [success] => half standard fine, star removed Threaten [fail] => bumps up to 4* Threaten...
