One question: is it a time drain, like Ogame?
It (quite literally) takes about 5 minutes to play once you know what you're doing. Knowing what you're doing takes a day or two depending on how well you understand the wiki or if you join an alliance. If you end up at war, that only takes an additional 5 - 10 minutes to fight back per day (again, once you know what you're doing).

As whatusername said though, unless you're in an alliance or something, the only real interesting aspect is war because other than that, there's not much to do other than buy infrastructure and grow, buy more infrastructure, buy some technology, buy aircraft, buy more infrastructure, find a new trade partner because your old one cancelled on you.

Being in an alliance and declaring war on others who've attacked your alliance is fun though. It keeps it interesting.

There is none. :(

Do we have any people to set one up? I'd be in for that. There are about 10 people from Terra-Arcanum who've joined but they've foisted themselves on another alliance (which doesn't get trade colour bonuses).

A friend and I started playing (and another should join soon enough) but we're going to start with an existing alliance because it's easier. They've offered cash, which is good.

HEY! Let's make an alliance. I'm with 2 other guys but we're planning on leaving our current alliance because they don't like it if we attack weak, unprotected countries to steal their tech. So if anyone's interested, we're already 3.

Maybe this is what I'm looking for on MMO grounds.

Is it a kind of MMO Civilization with turn-based combat and the same complexity and interesting gameplay of Sid Meier Alpha Centauri?

Blehh, nationstates all the way dude, http://www.nationstates.net

Sounds like some kind of "UN Evil World Government" truther stuff. Maybe it has a good gameplay.

Not even close. The only deep thing about Cyber Nations might be the resource game where you have to make trade agreements with the right people in order to get enough basic trade goods to make advance trade goods. Advance trade goods can make your people happier, industries more productive and military cheaper to fund.

Rumor has it that there is another game in the works that will feature tick based combat, where your country is actually featured on a world map where you move army divisions and fleets on. It would emulate the myriad of cultures and states, big and small, diverse and homogeneous, in our world as well as giving the player to shape their country (and possibly even others!) through a variety of domestic and foreign policies. Development got discontinued though, hurr, hurr.

The primary mode of gameplay on CN is that of diplomacy and war between alliances.

Actual in-game activity revolves around increasing as much as possible your alliance's fighting strength, to allow you to better dominate, along with your allies, the world of CN.

GOLD STANDARD!

Although it sounds quite disturbing the way people take things so seriously in that game. It makes it look like a huge E-peen competition and ego-trip of "LOL I pwn3d u nub!" filled with retards and assholes. This alliance's stuff blinks on the verge of insanity and E-megalomania. Of course there is also significant E-Fascism on that game and potential press gangs under the guise of "alliances".In other words, if you care about all that, don't play that game or perhaps there are more decent alliances, but the risk continue to exist.

Perhaps this game is where The Nameless Prick ended!
