  1. New Skyrim footage

Eh, I dunno, I'm cautiously optimistic. Some of the environments looked kinda nice, dungeons especially. Maybe it'll almost be as good as the Gothics
  2. Preview The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Previews

I actually think it looks kinda decent, combat aside. The music that played while the PC was on horseback was pretty good imo, and the world design looks almost as good as PB's stuff.
  3. 40 minutes of Skyrimjob at Quakecon

This gamespy article has some interesting tidbits: http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/elder-scrolls-v/1186740p1.html Personally I'm kinda heartened by this info. The bit about the courier and the prisoner make it sound like Bethesda is actually trying to populate the countryside with interesting...

  5. Best Thief fan missions?

I also reccommend the Rocksbourg series. The first one is a little hit and miss, but the second and third are some of the best FM's I've played for Thief.
  6. Completed Let's play: Horde! (Finished)

Untrue, the flute doesn't restrict you in any way.
  7. WHAT DA FUCK? - a Gothic 4 thread

I'm not upset by this news at all. I actually appreciate it for the laugh I get out of the color palate nonsense and so on. Imo the people who are truly annoyed by this news should just close their eyes, hum a happy tune, and think of RPB.
  8. Can you guys recommend some games like Arx Fatalis?

Well, it's not an rpg, but some of the levels in Thief 1 have a very similar theme and feel, setting wise. Team Arx was inspired by the Thief series, and it was the first game I thought of when I first played Arx. There are two demos which are still available somewhere. And yes, it's first...
  9. Fallout 3: the Technopaladins

The reasons for the DC BOS presence don't seem all that unplausable for me. But yeah, the whole "beacon on light" knight-liness is pretty boring stuff.
  10. Interview Emil Pagliarullo interviewed by Playstation Magazine

What exactly was the alternate ending?
  11. Interview Emil Pagliarullo interviewed by Playstation Magazine

Even The Witcher had clear cut good/bad scenarios, hell, Fallout was simply stuffed with them. You could free slaves and hostages, help the police maintain the law(3 times, no less), help people overthrow their oppressors et cetera. There's even a karma trait called "Champion of the...
  12. Penumbra

There's much more puzzle solving than combat, since combat is never complusory while puzzle solving is. Despite the ways to avoid direct combat, imo it was often a more preferable option to running or hiding, since the player is often forced to backtrack through monster-infested areas. That's...
  13. Penumbra

I have it, and it's a decent game all-around. It's worth the price tag imo, but just barely. The enemy animations are horrible, and the voice acting and writing is terrible later on. The puzzles aren't too involving, and the game has a very minimalist feel to it. But on the good side the...
  14. Assassin's Creed - how does it compare to Thief?

Absolutely beautiful world. Climbing and running system is fantastic, but besides that... I was intruiged by the pre-hit investigation tasks, but they all seemed completely moot once I got to the brutally simplistic assassination. Run up to the target, shank him, run away or button mash his...
  15. Game News Gothic 4: Genesis for PS3, XBOX 360, and PC

That the game will have a structured narrative, like the first 2 Gothic games? I'm not sure what you mean.
