I always sucked horribly at Starcraft.

There is a private chat there, right-click on the username -> Chat. But everyone talks through the IRC anyway, so it's pretty useless. Is there some kind of built in messaging system or some kind or is that just for "network" messages?
You should have enough of both zealots (to run to the tanks) and dragoons(to shoot the mines when noone's near, scare the occasional wraith). When you attack a terrain's barricade(tanks+turrets+mines+goliaths), make sure that your forces don't run in a crowd. Send 3-4 zealots first - they'll collect most of the mines. Then send everything else, trying to attack every tank you see with several zealots, give them separate targets while they run. Try keeping dragoons not too close to each other, to minimize the damage from tanks' splash.DarkUnderlord said:Okay, now if anyone has any idea on how a Protoss can counter Vulture Mines, I'm all ears. If I build Dragoons, they get owned by the tanks. If I build Zealots, they get owned by the mines. I managed to scrape out one attack against metallix by dropping Dark Templars into his base but they too got owned by mines.
Is there anything I can build that doesn't get owned by mines?
That sounds terribly familiar, oh traumatic memories!Flashback said:Then send everything else, trying to attack every tank you see with several zealots, give them separate targets while they run. Try keeping dragoons not too close to each other, to minimize the damage from tanks' splash.
I too felt the sting of the battleship fleet later that game. At least you had a couple of successful military forays - the only victory my zerg horde got to experience was after kriegbean left, when they ran through and slaughtered the troops who couldn't shoot back at them.kingcomrade said:Well, after suffering two mass battlecruiser players in a day (as well as another defeat to a different tactic) I'm starting to realize why I prefer FPS.
