It will not be Morrowind with guns. It won't be because we are not idiots. We are game developers, and we're good at what we do.

That is what everyone is worried about. People who think we will never progress beyond Morrowind are going to be in for one hell of a wake-up call.

Please baby jebus, please stop crying!

I was just flipping through this thread's nascent days, and although it's really denigrated into some foolishness (hence Godwin's Law), this thread, and I suppose its continued existence, stands as a public record of a debate that really never gets played out: whether it's immoral to have more money than others. The answer, of course, is yes (contingent on my next "if"). If you spend your money and the world ends up being a worse place because of it, then it's immoral, esp. if you know the result. Betheseda knows it will do Fallout3 differently than Troika, and those differences *I bet* will have more to do with economics than with taste or some literary (ha!) ambition. (The nice thing about coporations as they get larger is the capacity to feel guilt is further thinned over the numbers of conscience's fillilng their cubicles).

I'd just like to thank VaultDweler and DarkUnderlord and others for fighting the good fight.

Rereading these old threads makes you realise even more that we're truly living in the darkest timeline.
