So, who at the moment would be a better developer for Fallout?
Well let's see. I'll run down a list here....
Bethesda
-Ridiculous dumbing down
-Raping the lore of games they make
-Alienating the fanbase
-Demolishing critical parts of the game while adding nothing new in
-Car armor
-Buyable houses that could be made in 3 minutes with the construction set the developers use.
-Railroaded all the way.
Bioware
-Neo-Bioware morality will be at full strength; expect a good/evil meter.
-Totally expect romances, and for your romantic interest to be turned into a vampire....err mutant.
-Your character is always special. Probably the child of the great mutant Lord of Murder Bhaal. How shocking and unexpected (Is Bioware becoming the M. Night Shyamalan of CRPGs?)!
-Possibility of decent choices and consequences, though nothing Fallout level.
-East coast mutants will be dwares, gnomes, halflings, and elves....plenty of elves. On a side note, expect a winged mutant who lost her wings after being captured by a wasteland circus and put in a cage.
-Expect a lot of combat. It might be decent, but probably real time with pause, so the Codex will hate it.
-Maybe a decent story and characters, or maybe just more rehashing of everything Baldur's Gate. Expect to fight your half brothers and sisters.
-Obsidian will make Fallout 4.
Obsidian
-This game will not be finished or have an ending due to terrible publishers.
-Expect loads of references to the original and maybe Fallout 2.
-You'll probably fight or meet the ghosts of The Vault Dweller, The Chosen One, The Master, Dogmeat, and Frank Horrigan. Obsidian loves their ghosts.
-Expect a decent storyline and nifty writing that, while unfinished, will still be too fucking complicated for any of the console kiddies.
-Expect people like J.E. Sawyer to talk about how much the CRPG genre is bastardized and is being whored out while doing a lot of the things they are complaining about.
-Expect combat to be rather bad and have absolutely no challenge at all.
-Expect an influence system. They love this like Neo-Bioware loves their good/evil meter.
-Possibility of seeing Van Buren. Very slight however.
Piranha Bytes
-Expect bugs.
-Decent choices and consequences.
-More bugs.
-Fun enough gameplay, if a little action oriented.
-Bugs, bugs, bugs.
-A little too much focus on graphics, but RPG elements are pretty solid.
-They might as well nickname the project Bugs Bunny
Blizzard
-Will be a Monty Haul of epic proportions. Have fun with +6 Uber-Advanced Power Armor and +12 Quadruple Guass Plasma Autocannons.
-Online play so you can have fun with total fucktards.
-Expect a brahmin level.
-Expect monthly fees and some expansions.
-No story, no plot, no choices, just killing.
-Probably stays true to the lore though, at least.
Some Random Indie Developer
-Could be great, probably will be pretty decent.
-Will probably be ridden with bugs and have tons of issues.
-Will pretty much be the quality of a fan mod for Fallout 2.
Iron Tower Studios or Planewalker
-Probably will turn out real well in development
-Will take a long time
-Will have a slim chance of getting published or will have a jackass publisher.
-Probably will be quality but no one will ever play it because it doesn't have the graphics.
Interplay
-Will be a very cohesive work seeing as Interplay is basically a guy with a ten year old laptop in a carboard box.
-Will be done by the time we actually have power armor and plasma rifles in real life.
Every company on this list (besides Bethesda) would probably do a better job than them.
